LIMITED EDITION IRIS PRINTS

Although introduced just a few years ago, Iris prints have already set new standards for fine art reproduction, and are recognized by museums, galleries and artists as the finest quality prints available today. The hallmark of an Iris print is the unparalleled smoothness of the tone reproduction; this is achieved by applying the inks in microscopic size droplets in a unique overlay technique, which leaves absolutely no trace of the printing process.
The Iris print is also renowned for the delicacy of its detail and the subtlety of its color palette, effects that are heightened when the original image is “captured” directly via a digital scan rather than indirectly via transparency film. Carefully selected hand made acid-free watercolor paper is used. The care that should be taken with Iris prints is the same as the care of a fine watercolor. Photography, particularly portrait work, printed as an Iris print offers a stunning alternative to the traditional photograph.
Iris prints are sometimes referred to as 'giclée' prints. There is a substantial difference in the technology and quality between an Iris press and other ‘large format’ printers. It is therefore important to establish whether a giclée print is a genuine Iris print.
All of my Iris prints are printed on a genuine Iris press.
My Iris prints are all limited editions, numbered and signed. They are available matted ready for framing, or framed ready for hanging. Since these are considered “oversize” for shipping purposes, shipping and handling costs are determined by geographic location.

MATTING MOUNTING AND FRAMING

All prints are double matted using only acid free matting materials. All prints 16 inch and larger are mounted on an acid free foam core board. Iris prints are framed with black or brown wooden frames, and regular photographs are prepared with black metal frames. All have wire attached for hanging. All are framed with Tru-Vue conservation glass, 97% UV filtered.

LIMITED EDITIONS

All my prints are sold as Limited Editions of 150. All are hand-signed and numbered. The edition size listed represents the total number of prints that will be sold in addition to Artist Proofs. After all numbers of the Limited Edition are sold, that image will not be printed again as an Iris or c-type print, making your Limited Edition print a valued addition to your collection.

DISPLAY CONDITIONS

Careful display conditions are necessary to assure longevity of any work of art. High heat and humidity should be avoided, and art work should never be hung where it will be exposed to direct sunlight. The use of “acid free” materials in matting and framing is essential. UV glass is always used with my prints.
